Day1 Arrive at Dunhuang

Day2 Dunhuang

The Mogao Caves - The Singing Sand Dunes - Yueya Spring

The Singing Sand Dunes

The Singing Sand Dunes is a sea of sand with countless dunes. When the wind picks up, the sand mountain makes a loud ringing sound, and when the wind blows gently, it resembles the sounds made by traditional Chinese musical instruments such as the qin, the serpent, the xiao, and the flute, thus giving it its name.

Take a small step or ride a camel to climb up the Singing Sand DUnes to look at the distant Yueya Spring, enjoy the beautiful scenery of the sunset, and then go down the mountain.

Yueya Spring

In the endless desert, there is a clear spring, which is the Yueya Spring(Yueya, in Chinese, refers to the shape of a crescent moon). The water is clear and beautiful, and does not dry up for thousands of years.

In the desert area can see the oasis has been really not easy, four yellow sand in the Yueya Spring is like a miracle, in the water does not exist in the desert away from the romantic oasis.

Youjian Dunhuang Show

Dunhuang Again) is a large-scale, real-life, indoor situational experience that is not so much a show as an immersive experience of traveling back to Dunhuang through the millennia.

Unlike other stage plays, You Jian Dunhuang is a visual and audio feast in which the audience follows the actors, traveling through various scenarios and reinterpreting history with a strong sense of immersion

Day3 Dunhuang

After breakfast, we will head to Yardan National Geologic Park (about 150 minutes by car) for sightseeing. Situated 180 kilometers from Dunhuang City, the Yadan Devil City is a remarkable cluster of Yardan landforms. Stretching approximately 25 kilometers east-west and 1-5 kilometers north-south, this geological wonder boasts an extraordinary scale and bizarre shapes that are truly world-renowned. The formations range from 4-5 meters in height to over 20 meters, with dimensions varying from tens to hundreds of meters. Their irregular arrangement creates striking patterns: some resemble lion-bodied human faces, others mimic peacocks. The entire complex evokes the appearance of a medieval ancient city.

Along the way, we will visit the ruins of Yumen Pass, Han Great Wall, He Cang City, beacon towers, and Guyang Pass ruins. Yumen Pass, lies 95 kilometers northwest of Dunhuang City. Its name originates from ancient jade shipments through this route to Central China from regions like Hotan in the Western Regions. This strategic pass, complementing Yangguan Pass in northern-southern coordination, served as a western frontier checkpoint since the Han and Wei dynasties. During the Western Han period, it housed the Yumen Commandery's administrative center, while the Eastern Han administration maintained its jurisdiction. The Han Dynasty Great Wall and beacon tower ruins stand 6 kilometers west of Yumen Pass. This 1,600-meter stretch features a 3-meter-high structure with a 3-meter-wide base and 1-meter-plus top, constructed from earth, sand, lime, and reeds.

Then return to Dunhuang city (about 150 minutes by car), and then go to the restaurant to enjoy Dunhuang food. You can enjoy the pastoral scenery of the desert and enjoy the farmhouse dinner under the grape trellis in Yangguan scenic spot.

Day4 Dunhuang

Yulin Caves - Departure

Yulin Caves

Yulin Caves is known as the sister caves of Mogao Caves, the cave now exists in 43 caves, mural painting a total area of 4200 square meters. Painted Buddha, Tao map 10856 store, colorful Buddha, Tao statues 244.

The value of the Yulin Caves is mainly expressed in the exquisite mural paintings. Yulin Caves'mural content is very rich, there are exquisite Buddha and bodhisattva portraits, there are grand Buddhist story paintings, there are a variety of flowers and animals, and here are extremely delicate decorative patterns.

End of the tour, return to Dunhuang city and transfer to railway station or airport.
